Last night, we have witnessed again one of the biggest sporting events of the year: Super Bowl LII. Over 100 million Americans have tuned in to the Super Bowl since 2010 and it looked like 2018 was no different. Super Bowl Sunday is indeed on a class of its own when it comes to viewership. That's also the reason why it's a huge night for advertising.
Aside from the game itself, viewers are also expecting great things from commercials every year. If you're willing to shell out more than $5 million for a 30-second spot in the first place, you might as well put out something amazing for 100 million Americans to see. It simply comes with the territory. But, alas, not every advertiser can pull it off. So without further ado, here are the 2018 Super Bowl Commercials winners and losers:
Gordon Ramsay, Anthony Hopkins, Cardi B, and Rebel Wilson in one hilarious commercial? We say that's cameos done right!
Stranger Things' star David Harbour was hilarious in this 60-second Tide commercial where he appears on different scenes fit for commercials about beer, cars, deodorant, and more.
Here's a lighthearted jab to Minnesota Vikings fans that we're sure all Football fans have enjoyed.
Australia went all out with this one featuring their biggest stars (Chris Hemsworth, Hugh Jackman, Margot Robbie, Russell Crowe, Isla Fisher, Ruby Rose, Liam Hemsworth, Jessica Mauboy, Luke Bracey) and Danny McBride to promote their tourism.
This ad takes the cake. Easy. It's Morgan Freeman and Peter Dinklage lip sync rap battling each other with Missy Elliot's and Busta Rhyme's songs. What more can you ask for?
We love comedian, Tiffany Haddish, but we wish that this commercial has more kick to it (pun intended).
Not sure how a woman dancing after taking a sip of the Diet Coke will make us want to buy the product. It's not that exciting or interesting. Maybe we just don't get it.
